Letter to self

Last night, my dad came to my room and told me I got a letter, commenting that the address looked like my handwriting. I frowned, took the letter, and said it looked like my handwriting from when I was, like, six.

On the back of the envelope were the words: I'm so sorry for this delay. Please enjoy it now!

Curious, I opened the envelope and pulled out the letter inside. This is what I found, in little kid scrawl (very messy little kid scrawl):

Dear Erachet,

Today Mrs. [third grade teacher's name] asked us to write a letter that will be mailed back to us in 2005. This is what I would like to say: will my brother stop bothering me and being a pain? Will I still have to go to bed at eight o'clock? Will I go to Israel. I hope so. I hope I get neater handwriting.

Sincerely,

Erachet

Heh. That's awesome. Who had it?

Wow, that is so far-out! There's an email system out there that will send emails on certain dates. That would be interesting. So, how did your letter make you feel, etc?

That's so cute! I think we had a similar thing in high school, where they mailed it to us five years later or something like that.

So, tell us--is your brother still annoying? Is your handwriting neater? Goodness knows you don't go to bed at 8:00 pm anymore... :-P

Ezzie - I assume my third grade teacher, but the return address was from my elementary school. My mom thinks my teacher must have been cleaning out her house or something, because another girl three years younger than me recently got her letter, too.

Hakiruv - It made me laugh! I can totally picture myself writing it.

Scraps - Heh, my brother can still be annoying, but in different ways. He's mostly tolerable now :) Just kidding, I love my brother. My handwriting is definitely neater but that doesn't make it really NEAT, just neatER, if you know what I mean.

Now I have secret, hidden text like on SerandEz!
